suisenkyo-Hanase       水仙郷

We offer you the perfect place for a couple, a family, or a party to get away from it all. Whether you are a tourist or a local resident, take the chance to escape the city and unwind in the Japanese countryside -- you won't regret it!

We give you the keys and the maps, and the place is all yours. If you are a musician ask us about using the music room; guitars, a drum kit, keyboard, and mic.

Keep in mind:

  1. This is not a hotel, it is a traditional country house, several kilometers from the nearest town, though there is a small restaurant 500m from the house. Therefore, though it is beautiful and well-kept, it is more rustic than city accommodation.

  2. It is cooler than Kyoto city - very nice in the late summer and fall

  3. The bus goes there from Kyoto Demachiyanagi Station (1 hr. 35 min, ¥930) four times a day, five at peak times.  It’s a beautiful scenic ride.

Special rates may be available depending on group size, season, and length of stay, contact us for details.

Welcome to the perfect place to relax in the countryside and see a side of Japan that most foreign visitors don’t experience.

There are plenty of things to see and do up and down the valley -- hiking, searching for wildlife, checking out the local temples, photographing the nature scenes and beautiful wildflowers, or just sitting on the deck watching the world go by.

Spring and summer (from April to August)  teems with nature and wildlife. In the Fall the colors of the changing leaves are marvelous, and in the winter the snows blanket the valley in pristine quietness.
